You're not going to court. If you keep getting these notices, though, you might get disconnected. Did you waffle it?

yes i waffled it. i've been reading up and everything should be fine, because I was notified by cablevision, not HBO. The infringement was detected by BayTSP.
still, it means i have to lay off the waffling for a very long while.

Under current law they can't do much more than warn you, and maybe after a ton of detected violations disconnect you.
That or cover your ass with an SSH tunnel or something.
